Buckfort Medical Equipment Expands Into Flint, Saginaw and Lansing Markets

FLINT, Mich. Buckfort Medical Equipment is expanding its mobility scooter and wheelchair delivery service across Mid-Michigan after building a strong customer base in Detroit and Ann Arbor.

Owner Karon Richardson selected Steve Myers, a retired disabled Army veteran with deep community ties, to oversee the company’s expansion into Flint, Saginaw, Frankenmuth, Bridgeport, Lansing and surrounding communities.

Richardson said the goal is to make mobility equipment easier to obtain when and where customers need it. Buckfort delivers scooters and wheelchairs directly to homes, hotels, vacation rentals, casinos, festivals and event venues.

The service is designed for residents and visitors who may struggle with extended walking while attending Frankenmuth festivals, Detroit casinos, Back to the Bricks and other major Michigan attractions.

One recent late-night call showed the kind of service Richardson and Myers want Buckfort to be known for.

At approximately 10 p.m., the company received a call concerning a 100-year-old veteran who needed a mobility scooter at his hotel. Instead of asking him to wait until regular business hours, Buckfort delivered the scooter within an hour.

For Richardson and Myers, that response was not an exception. It represents the service standard they want to establish throughout the company’s growing territory.

Buckfort Medical Equipment serves Detroit, Ann Arbor, Flint, Saginaw, Frankenmuth, Bridgeport, Birch Run, Lansing and nearby communities.
