That would be enough to replace every sidewalk in the city! At the council meeting last night, where the council voted for the downtown grant, they also had to reprogram CDBG monies from 2005. Over $200,000 that was allocated in 2005 for sidewalks but never spent. They also had to reprogram over $400,000 from 2006 for sidewalks that was never spent. Anyone else find it odd that we have over $600,000 sitting in an account for sidewalks and it was never spent? Now it gets good... Our homeowners insurance has showed us in the Township for years. They just caught their mistake, and our premiums will be $100.00 per year higher now.
