Man allegedly robbed of $8,000, shot in shoulder by cousin on Flint's west side

By Dominic Adams | dadams5@mlive.com
on February 11, 2013 at 6:30 PM

FLINT, MI – A man told police he was shot and robbed by his cousin Sunday at a home on Flint’s west side, according to a report.

The man said his cousin came over to his house at 4 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, and his cousin pulled out a gun and told him, “You know what I’m here for,” Flint police said.

When the victim didn’t respond, his cousin hit the victim in the head with the butt of his handgun, police said.

The victim then walked upstairs at a home in the 2000 block of Mt. Elliott Avenue and gave the suspect $8,000 in cash from inside a box, police said.

After the suspect had the money, he shot his cousin in the left shoulder and the suspect fled the home on foot.

Police said the victim then went next door 30 minutes later and asked the neighbor to call 911. The victim was in fair condition at the hospital.

Detectives did not respond to the hospital, according to the report.

FLINT, MI – A woman told police she was assaulted by an irate driver because the woman took too long to cross a set of railroad tracks on Flint’s northeast side.

The woman told Flint police that at about 12:10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, she slowed down to go across railroad tracks near the 7000 block of North Dort Highway. A man in the car behind her started honking his vehicle’s horn at her.

The woman pulled into a gas station parking lot and the man in the vehicle that was honking at her followed, police said.

The man allegedly got out of his vehicle and started to kick the woman’s car.

When the woman tried to apologize, the man allegedly punched her several times in the head, face and legs, police said.

The man then got back in his car and left the scene.

Police said the woman had a lump on her forehead and bruises to her left arm.

No arrests were made, according to the report.

Six people charged after police raid finds meth lab in Burton

on February 15, 2013 at 2:30 PM, updated February 15, 2013 at 2:31 PM

BURTON, MI -- Six people have been charged in connection with a meth lab that was found by police at a home Monday night.
Police discovered 15 one-pot meth makers in two-liter bottles at a home on Mandeville Street near Fenton Road on Monday. Authorities called it a very substantial lab.

Andrew Adock, 18, and Kristen Coleman, 21, each face an operating/maintaining a meth lab charge, along with operating a meth lab that involves a firearm and in the presence of a minor.

Dustin Totten, 21, faces possession with intent to distribute dihydrocodeinone and marijuana charges, according to the Flint Area Narcotics Group.

Three other people have been charged, but not yet arraigned, said First Lt. Pat Richard, commander of FANG.

Neighbors said they suspected trouble at the home because of the high traffic in and out of the home.

Cooking meth is highly dangerous because its ingredients are explosive.

FPO had a vivid tale of never "owe the drug man".

3 suspects went to the 1000 block of River Forest (Flint Township) and took the car (grey mercury?) of the resident because he owed them money.

He admitted this to the police and told them the drug dealers lived on Dupont in Flint. They returned to the River Forest house once.

shots were fired mostly in the north end.

The stores in the 800 block of Welch have been robbed a lot lately. Someone tried to rob a citizen of their beer and wine, but got nailed by the police.

Gunshot wound to the chest.

The strange events of the Rose of Sharon hall teen event in the Maines & Industrial area. was there a goup of thugs with guns were the shots fired into an occupied home in the 3900 block of Brownell related to a call from that same block concerned that her children were kidnapped? What about the curfew?

Some of the same old hot spots reported shots fire.
The area around the Richfield Court Apartments and close to Averill and Richfield. trouble spots for years. Also the 2300 block of Burns, a former Cobra neighborhood.

a raid or other action by police in the 1800 block of e Hamilton resulted in the possible arrests of multiple suspects. Air traffic did not specify cause of officers converging on the sene.

The area around Ida, Woodcroft and Boston had multiple shots fired, a seemingly ongoing issue. Nearby 3700 block of Brown too hit by multiple calls of shots fired.

Why was a group of 10 to 15 creating havoc as they were walking west bound on baltimore towards M lL king.

2 vehicles shooting at one another in the 600 block of E Stewart. People running to escape the gunfire.

The 500 block of Copeman and the surrounding vicinity near euclid and ramona Park continues to have significant calls of shots fired.

Police investigate suspicious death outside River Village Apartments in Flint

By David Harris | dharris5@mlive.com
on February 18, 2013 at 12:45 PM, updated February 18, 2013 at 1:12 PM

FLINT, MI -- Police say a man in his 20s was found dead around 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, outside River Village Apartments off Saginaw Street, just north of downtown.

Police are calling the death suspicious.

It is unknown how the man died or how long he was there until he was found.

A large portion of the north side of the complex has been blocked off as police investigate. A medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

Detectives are on scene investigating.

Police say it appears the man lived in the complex.

Keisha Johnson, 30, lives in the complex and said she believes she knew who the victim was. She said he was a nice person who didn't bother anyone.

She got home from school to see all the police activity.

"It's horrific," she said. "The first thing I started doing was to call my kids to see if they were OK."

In case the Journal doesn't get around to reporting it, there was a homicide at the Palm Tree on Clio Rd. early this morning.

It's the top story on Flint Police Operations on Facebook with 128 comments so far.

They also ddi not report the shooting of a man in the 3900 block of Brownell the night before. If i lived in that area I would be distressed as that block has been reported multiple times in the last month for shot fired and shots fired into occupied.

I went and read the comments, etc and found comments that made the the whole story confusing. Hopefully the media will cover the story and the official police report will explain what happened.

It appears there was 2 incidents, one at the Palm Tree 4125 Clio and an incident further north about 3 blocks.

The FPO said 20 to 30 shots fired and one on the ground and two held at gunpoint. Then the real confusion starts. First it was armed security who shot the man and then police responding to having been fired upon. One commenter claimed the incident was across the street and not at the Palm Tree.

There was a RIP to Twan and another to Tip. Who knows? It was sad to read the comment from the woman who was expecting to meet her brother after he left the Palm Tree and he didi not show and she could not reach him by phone.

And then there was Richard Emberton who made the comment:
"What do you expect from that end of town..good job caller, if they move shoot them." The original call said the caller was holding two at gunpoint. You have to compliment FPO because they do try very hard to eliminate the racist and sometimes just plain mean comments. Their job is difficult as the commentors start fights amongst one another.

There was an arrest by the State Troopers at the intersection of Brownell and Myrtle. The posts said they were looking for 3 other suspects in the corner house. Allegedly the scanner traffic had the officers asking questions about the previous day's shooting and the "problem house".

It would be great if this were resolved and the residents did not have to endure more gunfire.
