Privatize noninstructional services.
Purchase reasonably priced health insurance.
Consolidate smaller districts. (pick up the Beecher district)
Share services with neighboring districts.
Sell off assets. We have a lot of closed school buildings we could sell

Some of the things you said have been tried. Such as privitizing noninstructional services. This has been tried with the bussing service. I wish I could remember the school district. But anyways, The took bidders for their bussing service, The got a low ball deal. They took it. Sold their busses. And then got slamed and ended up paying more in added charges and rate hikes.

Some of the other things you said are good Ideas. Jack Lessingberry would agree. We should sell off unused buildings and equipment before they depreciete any more. Also, Combined administration would do wonders for reducing the overhead costs and making the positions more competitive. An added benifit would be that low income schools would probably have better administrators than they could afford on their own.
