The city now faces paying $402,002 to a Flint towing company over a lawsuit after a judge added interest, attorney fees and costs on Monday.

Genesee Circuit Judge Judith A. Fullerton ordered the city to pay $36,773 in addition to the $365,229 awarded by a jury to Complete Towing earlier this month, said Dawn Weier, an attorney with Spender & Robb, the law firm representing the towing company.

Complete Towing sued after Mayor Don Williamson canceled the company's contract in 2004, citing unspecified resident complaints.

Despite losing the exclusive contract, Complete Towing continued to work for the city on a rotating basis with several other companies. But the city and the company differed over how much the city should pay for services.

City Attorney Trachelle Young said Monday the city is still deciding whether to appeal the jury verdict.

Well once the city steals the money from the former City council members that shoul give them 185,000. However, had we purchased the More econmical and safer impalas instead of the higher cost of ownership Tahoes. We could have paid Complete towing for their services.
