I can't seem to find updated info that I trust so I thought I would ask you.

The Renaissance Zones in Flint are beginning to phase out, correct? With 25% taxes due in 2009, 50% due in 2010, 75% due in 2011, and 100% due in 2012?

Or did someone vote to extend the duration of the Renaissance Zones and I just can't find it?

I believe that they can be renewed.. but rather than the whole zone getting renewed... the City can do it on a building/site by building/site basis.. My understanding is that it can only be renewed on business property... so areas like University Park are not eligible for renewal....

Unless, I have my tax breaks mixed up...

Ok good. Thank you :)

So in other words, all those people who say "why should I care about michigan historic tax credits? I live in a renaissance zone and don't pay taxes anyway" are suddenly going to exclaim "tax credits you say? what about these tax credits?"
