Today's Journal has an article that the Mayor has hired Herb Cleaves, at a salary of $33,000 per year. The Journal lists his official job title as security Monitor, while Don referred to him as "My bodyguard". Joe Conroy siad that "Cleaves can help youths develop job skills". From the article: "Cleaves said the job will let him focus on poverty and improving people's lives. He said 'I work for poor folk. It's all I've ever done in my life'". Don also said that "talk of a Haskell reopening is premature. more details could be announced next week."
HUH??? He's a "security monitor", or maybe a "bodyguard" This will let him "focus on poverty and improving people's lives" And Haskell? My bet is that it'll reopen soon with Herb as the director.
What say you folks? |

Typical... Where is the journal with one of thier famous editorials. Needing to raise taxes so Don can waste even more money and provide the citizens with even less. |

The Don has been hiring quite a few flunkys in the last month or so.... There is a mayoral election just around the corner though... He must need some workers to man his campaign... |

Josh, what is/ was the job status with Chris Martin at Haskell? if he left...WHY?
Cleaves has an upcoming election also. He no longer has a strong black community vote. The mayor might be let down by this horse.

Not sure if he is still employed with the City any longer... he was hired in the Water Department during the City Council races where he spent more time campaigning than on any water issue... sometime after that he was moved over to Haskell... he was running the youth activities there... not sure when or if he left the City... |
