STATEWIDE PROPOSALS QUALIFIED TO APPEAR ON NOVEMBER 7, 2006 GENERAL ELECTION BALLOT
PROPOSAL 1
HRZ was voted onto the ballot by a 2/3 vote of the 92nd Legislature. “Z” would amend the State Constitution to include a “Michigan Conservation and Recreation Legacy” fund that would protect various state programs.

PROPOSAL 2
"Michigan Civil Rights Initiative"
Would amend the State Constitution to ban all forms of Affirmative Action.
PROPOSAL 3
Dove Hunting
The question of whether or not to ban all dove hunting.
PROPOSAL 4
Eminent Domain
The Legislature, by a 2/3 vote, placed the issue of eminent domain on the ballot. The proposal would define in the Constitution that the government can only invoke eminent domain if the property is to be utilized by a unit of government for a public purpose.
PROPOSAL 5
Education Funding Guarantee
Would amend the State Constitution to guarantee annual inflationary increases in funding for both lower and higher education. |
