Howdy,

I think that this subject is too touchy for the board so I wrote a retort for the pharmacist that denied a woman Plan B aka "morning after pill".

Anyone is more than welcome to comment!!!

Once again, we are in the same court on this one...

Religion is a wonderful thing because it is not government...
Theocracies have been historically the most oppressive and abusive governments in the world.

Hey, Opprimo,

I guess that there are just all kinds of ways to oppress and abuse, huh?

What's ironic about this for me is that it is an OVER THE COUNTER medicine now. They only lock it up so it's not stolen!

What a dumbass. And the funny thing about this story is that I anticipated that possible response last year, and I called every Rite Aid in Flint to see if they had it. They all said yes and all said it was over the counter. Guess I should've tried the Target, eh?

Wasn't there a Rite Aid in Illinois that had a pharm. that did that?

Probably. It strikes me that they are so STUPID they don't even understand how it works.

That pill will save someone having an abortion. DUH.

Those that believe life begins at conception consider the morning after pill a form of abortion.

Here are some of the side effects:

nausea
vomiting

breast tenderness
ectopic pregnancy (can be life threatening)
blood clot formation

Sounds perfectly safe to me?

GAHH!!!! Okay this one is making me mad. Here's the deal:

The morning after pill has NOTHING TO DO WITH A FERTILIZED EGG OR EMBRYO. There may be an egg, there may not, but it is not an embryo until it is attached to the uterine wall. The morning after pill, all it does is accelerate your period. This to me so clearly averts the moral implications of what some would consider a fetus.

As for side effects, there's no drug on earth that doesn't have them. But this pill cannot come NEAR the risks associated with live birth OR abortion.

I can't speak for all women, but the side effects I experienced from this drug were no worse than many antibiotics and birth control pills I've taken.

Someone needs to explain to me how taking this drug is not the most responsible thing you could do.

Condoms, birth control pills, morning after pills anything that prevents an unwanted pregnency, an abortion, or an unwanted child I am all for. And of course for us guys you can always go this route. Laughing
