Now LTH...let's give blame where blame is due. Social Security was a flawed plan from inception. Any surplus since it was started has been spent. The Federal government hasn't had a true surplus since about 1960. In spite of what the Dems told you during the Clinton years, we were still borrowing to pay our bills.
Closer to home, the last financial statement I saw for Genesee County showed promises to pay future health benefits for retirees estimated at a cost of $179 million. They've set aside $19 million to cover that cost. |

not being pro or anti anything,i cannot stoop to say that islam is a bad
religion. islam, like every other religion has
zealots and far right wingers who misrepresent the true religion.
those who sit in a well developed country with security, schools, clean
water, electricity. microwaves and suvs have no idea what being truly
poor means. yet the poor can see, right over a fence or across a border or
on the village television set how well developed countries live and
quite naturally become upset. they worry about their daughters being
gang raped going to the store and we worry about britney spears and
her rich-kid problems?????is war right? i believe the answer is yes
when we are attacked. we must also operate in a way that causes no harm
to others or gives them a reason to be upset with america (foreign policy).
there is no reason why, in the 21rst. century any people anywhere
should starve on this planet. there is no logical reason. 
most large religions have had those who destroyed in its name, yes
even christianity. the problem is not religion, it's the radicals of that
particular religion..
