I've only been talking about this since three months after this Mayor took Control! I saw this happen almost immediately. Thus I went from being a "GUNG HO" supporter of Don Williamson. To another of the citizens of Flint that has been lied to by our leadership! This is the very thing that changed my attitude towards the Mayor!
His lackluster leadership, undermining of authority in the police department, completely lack of accountability to the citizens when it comes to our law enforcement. Has created this problem. Had he done what he said in his campaign! Made opening the City jail his top priority. He could have provided the lackluster leadership but Crime would have gone down in spite of his inability to lead!
And I would probably be just like everybody else. I would have never done my homework, I would have just accepted everything The DON said at face value.
This issue is the main reason I will not be convinced he has the best intentions for the citizens of Flint at heart! Something as simple as opening the city jail. Could have been, and should have been done immediately. He has proved that just hiring more officers had no affect on crime under his leadership. He has also proved what I've been saying all along.
"Stop handing out multiple dissappearence tickets and start arresting criminals and putting them into jail and getting them into the system. And Crime will go down.
