No, but I'll post some facts he neglected to mention and correct some he got wrong.

First of all, he neglected to mention the city 911 director Stephen Todd, again. He doesn't like Stephen Todd, because he didn't appoint him and Mr. Todd will not kiss his ass.

He also introduced Ron Jackson as the Budget Director. Ron quit two months ago. Way to stay on top of things Donny.

During his speech he took credit for paving "393 lane miles of streets"
-- most of the street paving in the city were state projects, including the Pierson Road project.

He took credit for building 3 new bridges.
-- Those were also state projects, paid for by the state and done with state workers. The city had nothing to do with any of them. But Don patted himself on the back for it.

He boasted about demolishing 599 houses.
--These were done in conjunction with the county. The city only has one demolition crew.

Basically anything the Mayor boasted about was done by someone else, so remember that in the next election and vote for someone else. This guy is just taking credit for everyone else's hard work hoping you'll forget about all of his corruption and buy a car from his wife.

Actually. I know people who were in State government and were involved in getting the state (and I think Fed) money to repair one or two of the bridges. I also understand that one of the repairs was done, in part, with state or fed money used for historic preservation.

Oh I know that these bridges were assisted with state and fed grants secured by the city, but the work was done by city workers

Well I had the opportunity to speak briefly with one of our State elected officials. Interesting their take on the way the city jail is being opened. When I mentioned we could have opened the jail sooner I was told "The Mayor did it the right way, by securing the funding first) My argument being that had we not wasted so much money paying off Police Sergeants to not drive their vehicles home, or City workers to not clean up the parks, or Paper boys 140,000 of our tax dollars to deliver papers at city hall. We could have funded the jail with plenty to spare! That's not including the extra spent on Garbage Trucks, Tahoes, and towing all not going to the most reasonable bid. Hell, They never got a bid from anyone for the purchase of the Tahoes! So we really don’t know if we saved money or paid more for the same product. Since No Flint business was allowed to bid!

Oh man he is talking about that right now! But for some reason forgot to mention how every single one of the garbage trucks had the braking system BRAKE DOWN! LOL And don’t know one try to tell me it’s because the stop and go too much. Funny they didn’t have that problem with the Internationals! Oh maybe I should mention what the problem was! The “S” cams were wearing out too soon. Which btw are a normal wear out item. Only usually they are replaced every 2nd or third brake overhaul. Not before the brakes even need to be replaced.

My data only goes back 10 years. But in that time. This is the only Mayor that can claim a 40 percent increase in Crime! Then turn around and boast how much he has done to affect crime. Shoot, this is the only Mayor that can really claim a increase in crime in probably 20 years. Thank you Don for turning crime around. Ya know, I was much happier with crime going down. Really, I was!

I’m going to have to FOIA a copy since the play on TV wasn’t very good. I’m sure Paul will attempt to replay it. I’ll bet he hears about it tomorrow.

The best thing that could happen to the City of Flint would be to change the City Charter and do away with the strong mayor form of government. Why should someone who won a popularity contest be allowed to run this City into the ground. It makes more sense to have a City Manager who is hired based on qualifications. At least then they would probably have some idea of the concepts necessary to make a municipality solvent. It has to be better than letting a moron with a 7th grade education boss people around.
