Recognized this name immediately. I believe he one of a pair who abducted an eastside boy from the former Eastside Community Center many years ago. They dressed the boy as militia, took him to lansing and were planning on shipping him to a southern state.

His photo is on weyi tv 25 news site

FLINT, MI – A man police believe helped set fires around downtown Flint in the last year has been charged with arson.

James R. Strempel, 32, of Flint, was arraigned in Flint District Court Thursday, Aug. 14, on five felony counts of arson.

Strempel is believed to have started fires at the vacant Garfield Elementary School at 301 E. McClellan Street, as well as houses 1405 Stone St., 1529 Stone St., 533 Asylum St. and another on Grand Traverse Street, according to Sgt. David Bigelow, a Flint police fire investigator.

Police were able to focus on Strempel after arresting Robert Lucas Williams on Aug. 7.

Bigelow said police believe Strempel and Williams worked together setting the fires throughout the city.

Strempel was in jail on an unrelated charge when he was charged with arson, Bigelow said.

A firefighter suffered minor injuries while extinguishing one of the fires Strempel allegedly set, Bigelow said.

Strempel is being held at the Genesee County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bond.

Anyone with information on arson is asked to call 1-800-44-ARSON. Information leading to an arrest could result in a cash reward.
