Yesterday, our son came home from his morning job (he also has a night job) and found his home had been broken into. He called 911, & an officer came about 20 minutes later. Officer Thrasher was very caring and thorough, explaining everything, suggesting our son check pawn shops for the stolen items, etc. She took some evidence with her, and when our son found more later, she promptly returned to pick it up. Her courtesy and professionalism are greatly appreciated.

They must be doing directed patrols in your neighborhood as they have quickly apprehended a number of criminals in your area.

Kudos to Officer Coffey for nabbing the guy with the gun recently!

In my son's case, I told officer Thrasher I was surprised at the quick response & she said it was a very slow day.

Updates

1. It was officer THROWER, not Thrasher. My bad.

2. Son noticed a broken window on the house next door, and evidence similar to what was left in his house on the ground by the window. Called 911 & 2 officers responded. They basically blew him off, saying the house was abandoned; it's, NOT! They acted like he was wasting their time, refused to take the evidence. He'll hold on to it & hopefully the detective will be interested.

These are the kind of clowns that need to be removed and replaced with people that want the job and will perform well at the job. It's time Flint STOPPED hiring people that are self serving and mediocre at best.

Even well intentioned employees let stress get the best of them. A one time situation does not mean they act that way all of the time. I understand an officer can get frustrated starting a shift with a 30 call backlog could cop an attitude when the calls don't let up .

I have seen officers trying to take a lunch break and have to take it to go because they get a call.

Some officers are bad and should be weeded out, but the main thing is a good vetting process in the beginning.
