You have to wonder if this is an attempt to stop the action of Glenda Dunlap, et al vs the City of Flint in the Flint Civil Service hearings. Tle testimony of Dunlap last month was said to be devadststing to the city.
Surprise. The recoring failed and the testimony has to be given again. Tonight at 6:30 in the City Council Committee of the Whole room. (City Council chambers) Open to the public. |

The hearing tonight was cancelled. Judge Yuille was on vacation and Judge Farah signed a stay in his absence. There willbe a show cause hearing on October 17th in Yuille's Court.
The administration would like to eliminate the civil service commission with a charter revision. The Civil Service Commission is also contractual as well as charter mandated. Three of the four Flint unions as wll as Hurley have the Civil Service Commission as an option in their contracts. |

WAS THE CITY JUDGE SHOPPING?
Today at 1:30 pm Judge Yuille heard the show cause for this case and dismissed it.
One thing that deply disturbed the Judge ws the deviation from Protocal. Judge Neithercutt was his altenate while he was on vacation and Judge Hayman would have been next. Hayman had already recused himself/
When the Judge questioned Kent, the attorney for the City, about how the document was signed by Judge Farah, kent's reply was that "he had been told to find a Judge". That did not sit well with Yuille who said that when Neithercutt refused to sign that should have ended the matter. |

| Cathy Shafran does not sugarcoat the allegations but documents everything. She should have been kept by Channel 12 and the whole community would have benefitted from her experienced reporting style. |
