Tonight I reported in real time from the Flint City Council meeting.
1.I could not sign on to Flint Talk and therefore could not edit my post.

2.I type poorly, I was in an tight position, the quality of the typing detracted, I powered out at 7:30 pm

3. It was easy to do.

4.I used a lap top and a LAN card wirless

You judge the quality but I reported the Flint City Council vote of no confidence on the Mayor before any body else. In fact I called TV 12 and told them they should be there.

What if two of us were posting to Flint Talk the activities of a Flint Board of Education meeting, the Flint City Council meeting, a neighborhood meeting, the readers of Flint talk would get breaking news which they did tonight.

What do you think?

I suggesst that 10 -20 of us with this technology start covering meeting this way.

Your thoughts

fascinating. Sounds like they got tired of the donald's heavy-handed punitive actions and decided enough was enough......

go all the way or don't go at all. We all hang together so we don't hang separately.

I sense that once the original outcasts [Kincaid and Sims] realized a tipping point had occurred, it was time to push the actions to the max, and get several items against the mayor/actions he had taken, voted on.

Of course the no confidence vote is just symbolic, and something I expect the donald to shrug off. The other actions, about the water lines, appointments etc will have more lasting repercussions.

The ball is in the donald's court. Lets see how he responds tomorrow.

Will Conroy convince him to not respond with more brinksmanship and defuse the situation? I doubt it, if past performance is any indication.

This could get messy.......................

Thanks for the live reports Terry. Given the circumstances, no apologies necessary for the quality of the writing. We can figure out what was being said.

I expect then NOT to see anything on the news tonight, maybe the paper tomorrow..even then it will be filtered, muted....Once again the media fails the community.

Your suggestion is a fascinating one, in that it would provide a spotlight into what is actually going on in some of these important meetings, that typically don't reported at all, or get filtered into the 30 second film/sound bite on TV. Hope others will pick up on it [i don't have a laptop].

I can only presume Sandy Hill would have opposed all the votes.

But what about Ehren Gonzales? I assume he was absent tonight.

And he's probably GLAD he was......now at least he doesn't have to choose sides YET.

But he will soon enough have to decide. Given the donald's anticipated "scorched earth" response to any and all who oppose him;
Mr Gonzales will have to decide if these are the issues he wishes to break with the mayor on; or not.

But there is no doubt in my mind, the mayor will excoriate each and every council-member who isn't with him. Doesn't matter the reason.

its just who the donald is.
