Topic: has 5th ward fallen from walling's grace?

Walling said Mott Park Golf course would be a nature preserve, but now that has changed and the course is being mowed.

I just drove a large portion of the 5th ward and I am convinced Walling is making parts of it a nature preserve! The city is bringing on code enforcement but the city mediums are filed with waist high grass and weeds,

Some streets, like Green and Newell between Mason and Iroquois, have nearly one entire side of the block vacant an overgrown with brush and grassws. Newell is kind of pretty as a portion of it is overgrown with flowers.

Second ward has its problems but more blocks seem to be willing to cut the mediums. Some like one block on chevrolet has beautiful flower beds in the medium , complete wih iris, illium and daylillies.

That block on Chevrolet was planted and is maintained by one or two people that live there.

On Hamilton, the median between Milbourne & Dupont has been mowed. The median from Milbourne to Forest hill has not. It's now so tall a residential type mower could not mow it. it's tall enough to restrict the vision of people driving across Hamilton on one of the side streets.

The unmowed median on Hamilton & Milbourne just claimed a victim. The driver of a car crossing Hamilton couldn't see a car on Hamilton because of the tall grass & was hit as he pulled out. No injuries, & the driver that did the hitting left the scene.

Oh, goodie, now you can be a witness in a lawsuit against the city!

Turns out there were injuries. An ambulance showed up an hour later to take one person to the hospital. An officer showed up 2 hours later to investigate.

The medians on Hamilton from Milbourne to Forest Hill were mowed yesterday between 6 & 8 pm. Also, along Chevrolet, they were mowed close to the turnarounds. You don't suppose the wreck yesterday had anything to do with it? Laughing

I saw that too and you can bet they were done in an attempt to limit lawsuits. Should have thought about that earlier.

Why would walling support the fifth ward? There is no educated, high income, dedicated white voters up there.
