Flint woman tracks down boy who admits to breaking into her home

FLINT, Michigan — A Flint boy was arrested and lodged at the Genesee Valley Regional Center Nov. 5 after he admitted to breaking into a woman's Humboldt Avenue home, according to a police report.

The woman called police around 8:45 a.m. after learning a boy who lived down the block from her entered her home with two other boys by prying open a window frame sometime overnight.

After talking with the boy, the woman said he confessed to the break-in during which a .45 caliber shotgun and two necklaces were taken from the home.

Police arrested the juvenile, booked him at the Flint Police Department and lodged him at the Genesee Valley Regional Center. No information was available on if the two other juveniles have been arrested.

Man robbed of coat while walking dogs in Flint

FLINT, Michigan — A man was knocked to the ground and robbed as he walked his dogs on Saturday, according to a police report released Monday.

The victim told police he was walking his dogs on Pershing Street near Miller Road at 6:15 a.m. when he saw a light colored Buick LeSabre stop and turn off its headlights.

The man continued walking until he turned a corner and was knocked down from behind, according to the police.

A man ordered him to empty his pockets, threatening to shoot him, though no gun was seen, according to the report.

The suspect demanded the man's wallet and cellphone, but the victim had neither to give and handed the over his coat, according to the police report.

Woman steals jackets from Flint store, threatens to run over clerk

FLINT, Michigan — A woman walked out of a store with an armful of jackets on Sunday and threatened to run over a clerk who tried to stop her, according to a police report.

The store employee told police a woman in her 30s, weighing about 215 pounds, walked into the store on West Pierson Road near Clio Road around 11:20 a.m. and grabbed eight to ten jackets from of a rack.

The suspect walked out without making any attempt to pay and when the clerk followed her outside and grabbed hold of one of the jackets, the suspect said "I'll run you over," according to the police report.

The clerk told police the woman then handed the coats to one of two man inside a green 1990s Pontiac Grand Am, who drove off with the merchandise

Flint store owner gets assaulted after asking drug dealer to leave

FLINT, Michigan — A Flint store owner told police last week that he was assaulted by a man trying to sell narcotics out of his store on East Flint Park Boulevard, according to police reports.

The man went to the store during second shift hours and began to sell narcotics out of the store. He even plugged in his cell phone in the store and tried charging it, according to reports.

The store owner tried to get the man to leave and was punched in the face and head several times. He told police he is now getting very bad headaches since the assault.

He also said that the same suspect in the past has vandalized his vehicle while at the store, according to police reports.

The suspect may have been caught on store security cameras since he often comes into the store and takes what he wants and then leaves.

Flint woman wakes up to gunfire outside her home, finds bullet holes in her house

FLINT, Michigan — A Flint woman told police that she woke up to gunfire outside her home Monday afternoon.

Around 1:15 p.m. the woman woke up when she heard gunfire and when she got up to investigate found five bullet holes on the outside of her house and three bullet holes inside her house, located on Flushing Road near Dupont Street, according to police reports.

There were no witnesses to the incident and police have no suspects

Three people shot Tuesday night on Franklin Avenue in Flint

FLINT, Michigan — Three people suffered gunshot wounds around 11 p.m. Tuesday on North Franklin Avenue, according to a police report.

Police were called to a shooting and found a 20-year-old man shot in his right calf. Police then received information that 33-year-old man and 36-year-old man showed up at a local hospital with gunshot wounds to the neck and thigh, respectively.

All were listed in good condition.

Two of the victims were arrested for possession of cocaine and person with intent to deliver cocaine. One was issued an appearance ticket and released while the other was lodged in the Genesee County Jail.

Residents of home robbed at gunpoint in Flint

FLINT, Michigan — Two men entered a home and robbed the home's residents at gunpoint, according to a police report.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. Tuesday on Hammerberg Road.

The victims were at home when they heard a knock at the door. When one went to answer the suspects barged in the home with guns and ordered the victims to the floor.


The suspects stole a 32-inch TV and $2,200 cash, according to the report. They then fled the scene.

Flint man held at gunpoint for pack of cigarettes

FLINT, Michigan — A Flint man surrendered a pack of cigarettes to four unknown suspects after he was held at gunpoint.

The victim said he was walking along Fenton Road in Flint at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 23 when four men came out from behind a building, jumped him and began kicking and punching him.

The four suspects looted his pockets before pulled out a handgun and asked, "Should I pop this fool?"

The four men took the cigarettes and left in the opposite direction the suspect had been heading

Barbershop in Flint heavily damaged by fire on Thanksgiving

FLINT, Michigan -- A multi-use building that included a barbershop suffered heavy damage in a fire on Thanksgiving night on Flushing Road, according to the Flint fire battalion chief.

Crews were called around 7 p.m. Thursday to heavy smoke and flames showing at the building that included a barbershop, beauty salon and office space, said Battalion Chief Andy Graves.

The building was located at 3306 Flushing Road.

Firefighters spend about 2 hours knocking down fire in the walls and roof, Graves said.

There was heavy fire and smoke damage, he said. The damage caused was about $250,000, he said.

There were no injuries.

The Flint Township Fire Department assisted.

Man beaten with handle of gun in Flint

FLINT, Michigan — A man landed in the hospital after he was beaten by two men with a gun, according to a police report.

The incident occurred around 4 a.m. Thursday on Dort Highway.

The man was approached by the two men and beaten with the gun.

The suspects then fled.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he was listed in good condition.

There were no arrests.

Flint man arrested for possession of guns, ammunition, illegal drugs

GRAND BLANC TWP., Michigan — A Flint man, 18, was arrested after a search of his car after a traffic stop turned up guns, ammunition and illegal drugs.

Officers pulled over the suspect’s 1999 Ford Taurus at 1:28 a.m. Nov. 20 at the intersection of Maple and Fenton roads when they realized the car’s license plate had no title information.

The suspect did not have a license, but verbally identified himself. Officers found he had two misdemeanor warrants for operating a vehicle without a valid license.

After conducting a search of the car, officers found two boxes of ammunition, a bottle of I need to die!, a .22-caliber Beretta handgun, a Harrington and Richardson five-shot revolver and 11 bags of suspected illegal drugs.

The suspect admitted to police he had 10 bags of heroin and one bag of crack cocaine he had obtained from a man in Detroit to sell.

The amount of heroin totaled 1.47 grams and the amount of crack-cocaine totaled .90 grams.

The man was arrested and lodged at Genesee County Jail.

Woman says 'hello' to passerby outside her home and gets robbed

FLINT, Michigan — A woman was robbed of her purse in her own driveway earlier this week, according to a police report released today.

The woman pulled her car into the driveway of her home on Crawford Street near South Grand Traverse Street about 9 p.m. and was approached by a teen dressed in black, according to the report.

The woman said 'hello' to the suspect and the teen replied "Give me your purse."

The victim then cursed at the suspect, who grabbed the purse, braeaking the strap, and ran, according to the police report.

Vehicle broken into, almost stolen on 700 block of Chevrolet Avenue

FLINT, Michigan — A 1994 Buick LeSabre had its steering column punched out and was reported as being broken into on the 700 block of Chevrolet Avenue.

The vehicle was left in the driveway of the victim, according to a report at the Flint police department. The victim has insurance.

No further information about the incident was included in the report.
