Inez Brown's office is neat and clean. It would be better if she could stop it from raining in her office. Nearly a third of her ceiling is brown and missing ceiling tiles.
The stone slabs on the exterior of the building are coming loose and many fear they could fall. Several years ago one fell off the Police station. Luckily it was in the back and occurred on a weekend so there was no one injured.
The overhang off the roof, which appears to be in the vicinity above Inez's office shows signs of water damage. The ceilings on the third floor show damage in some areas, one of which is directly above Inez's office.
The Assessment office, directly across from the Clerk's, has so much water damage and missing tiles that they have posted signs warning that the "sky is falling".
For years many offices have complained about mold. I saw in the paper that the State closed down the Pierson road DHS office because of health concerns over mold and mildew.
What would happen if they condemned city Hall?

Years ago, the city used to allow for project accounts where money was set aside during the budget process to accumulate money for major construction. Inez had almost enough money to fix her offices when the financial emergency occurred. I believe it was Kurtz who took her project account. |
