| I had an appointment today and could barely make it down Ballenger HWy. called the city and was told they had plowed it. No way as all there was to travel in was the paths of previous drivers. |

| Where I live there are older people, people with disabilities, AND they do not have trucks with snow plows! Even Your Ride had to stop on the main cross street and wait until their passenger walked about 1/2 a block on snow filled sidewalks with a cane to catch a ride. Your Ride couldn't get down the street and up the driveway. There wasn't anyone on the street to help out with the snow at the time. |

That is the problem council is grappling with. Finance produces budget to actual monthly statements, so the administration can supposedly keep a lid on spending. They also get reports on revenue.
For whatever reason, property tax collections had remained fairly constant and the city relied on that. Didn't happen this year. Council rightly pointed out that when budget expectations were not realized the city should have begun making adjustments. If departments were spending over their budget, they should haave been making budget adjustments and correcting the situation.
Now we have until June 30th to make the adjustments.
