Sheriff’s Office applying for grant to fund full-time police protection for village By Jeff Patrus Staff Writer ROSCOMMON — Should the Roscommon County Sheriff’s Office receive the federal stimulus money that it is seeking, the Village of Roscommon would be one of the beneficiaries. During his presentation to the Village Council March 23, Sheriff Randy Stevenson informed the council that the Sheriff’s Office has applied for federal stimulus money for three positions within the department. One of those positions would be for a full-time deputy to provide police protection for the village, who would work a total of 2,080 hours per year.
