Sen. Stabenow wants hearings on radio 'accountability'; talks fairness doctrine
This morning, radio host Bill Press brought up the recent closing of liberal station Obama 1260 when speaking with Michigan Sen. Debbie Stabenow, and talked about whether there needs to be a balance to right-wing talk on the radio dial.

BILL PRESS: Yeah, I mean, look: They have a right to say that. They’ve got a right to express that. But, they should not be the only voices heard. So, is it time to bring back the Fairness Doctrine?

SENATOR DEBBIE STABENOW (D-MI): I think it’s absolutely time to pass a standard. Now, whether it’s called the Fairness Standard, whether it’s called something else — I absolutely think it’s time to be bringing accountability to the airwaves. I mean, our new president has talked rightly about accountability and transparency. You know, that we all have to step up and be responsible. And, I think in this case, there needs to be some accountability and standards put in place.

BILL PRESS: Can we count on you to push for some hearings in the United States Senate this year, to bring these owners in and hold them accountable?

SENATOR DEBBIE STABENOW (D-MI): I have already had some discussions with colleagues and, you know, I feel like that’s gonna happen. Yep.

Congress holds a lot of hearings. People should call Stabenow though and ask her to again vote against the bailout. I doubt she will since now it is Obama screwing things up and not Bush but she did vote against Bush and Obama's previous bailout. Levin and Kildee will for sure vote for this new bailout just like they did for the last one.

Proof once again that the democrats can not compete when the truth of their idiotic agenda is presented in a fair and balanced way. What the f*** are they whining about they got their boy elected and now they want to shutdown any criticisim of his highness. Remember when the campaign was going on and we brought up the fairness doctrine. All the Obama nuts claimed that was not on the democrats agenda much like Obama will not try to diminsh second ammendment rights. Their aint no one that can lie like a democrat. Whining democrats want to make ya puke. Hey Stabenow why dont you start your own talk show I am sure it will be as succesful as ever other leftwingnut who tried spewing their ideas on the airways. Lets see abc, nbc, cnn, npr, pbs, just about every newspaper in the land, hollywood, the list goes on and on for the lefties. Righties a few talk radio hosts, fox news and a handful of papers. Oh ya need to correct that imbalance for sure. Ist ammendment anyone anyone????

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

How about a quick example of how well hes doing. Lets start with the non tax paying cabinet and move on to the biggest boondoggle in history known as the Obama stimulus Pkg. Thankfully the republicans look like they might actually have smartened up and will put that plan out to pasture. Laughing

Any more? Where have you been for the more recent decades/your whole entire life. Church pastors haven't had a right to free speech for a long time. The CIA has admitted to "working with the press". I think you sometimes may need permission ("license") from the government to peacefully assemble and if you have a problem with the government stealing from you good luck with that.

If that's not enough ask yourself why people like George Washington Thomas Jefferson Abraham Lincoln never had a license to own a gun or to get married or to own a dog or to drive their vehicles etc etc etc.

When you have incompetent citizens overpaying an incompetent government to run their lives for them you have a recipe for disaster so get ready for disaster when our government does an even more of a job of fixing our economy than they did fixing marriages etc.

If Bush would have been more partisan and not been in bed with Ted Kennedy and other socialist libs things might not be quite as bad. Things did start going more down hill when the dems took Congress. With Republicans in Congress being so socialist/moderate it only takes a few democrats to drift us to the left let alone a mojority.

Any government that has the power to give you everything you want also has the power to take it all away from you. Ben Franklin, I think.

Why justify OhNoBama' s failures with history? I don't care what happened yesterday, I care what is happening now or not happening! Where is the change? Nothing but the clinton mafia hacks. 2012 will be interesting when the hildabeast starts stabbing the prez in the back.

Seems the far left is very unhappy with SnOBama as his change is not happening. Rolling Eyes
