Ever notice its always the Democrat supporters who take to the streets?

Police prepare for unrest
By Alexander Bolton
Posted: 10/21/08 07:58 PM [ET]
Police departments in cities across the country are beefing up their ranks for Election Day, preparing for possible civil unrest and riots after the historic presidential contest.

Public safety officials said in interviews with The Hill that the election, which will end with either the nation’s first black president or its first female vice president, demanded a stronger police presence.

Some worry that if Barack Obama loses and there is suspicion of foul play in the election, violence could ensue in cities with large black populations. Others based the need for enhanced patrols on past riots in urban areas (following professional sports events) and also on Internet rumors.

Democratic strategists and advocates for black voters say they understand officers wanting to keep the peace, but caution that excessive police presence could intimidate voters.

Sen. Obama (Ill.), the Democratic nominee for president, has seen his lead over rival Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) grow in recent weeks, prompting speculation that there could be a violent backlash if he loses unexpectedly.

Cities that have suffered unrest before, such as Detroit, Chicago, Oakland and Philadelphia, will have extra police deployed.

In Oakland, the police will deploy extra units trained in riot control, as well as extra traffic police, and even put SWAT teams on standby.

“Are we anticipating it will be a riot situation? No. But will we be prepared if it goes awry? Yes,” said Jeff Thomason, spokesman for the Oakland Police Department.

“I think it is a big deal — you got an African-American running and [a] woman running,” he added, in reference to Obama and GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin. “Whoever wins it, it will be a national event. We will have more officers on the street in anticipation that things may go south.”

The Oakland police last faced big riots in 2003 when the Raiders lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Super Bowl. Officials are bracing themselves in case residents of Oakland take Obama’s loss badly.

Political observers such as Hilary Shelton and James Carville fear that record voter turnout could overload polling places on Election Day and could raise tension levels.

Shelton, the director of the NAACP’s Washington bureau, said inadequate voting facilities is a bigger problem in poor communities with large numbers of minorities.

“What are local election officials doing to prepare for what people think will be record turnout at the polls?” said Shelton, who added that during the 2004 election in Ohio voters in predominantly black communities had to wait in line six to eight hours to vote.

“On Election Day, if this continues, you may have some tempers flare; we should be prepared to deal with that but do it without intimidation,” said Shelton, who added that police have to be able to maintain order at polling stations without scaring voters, especially immigrants from “police states.”

You know what I think Two Tap? I think people like you and posts like this are helping Barack Obama win. Ever since around the time he wrapped up the nomination, and the full extent of the economic meltdown began to be felt, you guys inexplicably changed focus. Barack talked about the economy, and you talked about some imaginary link to Ayers. Barack talks about tax relief for the middle class, and you guys scream "Socialist!" for three weeks. Barack talks about equal pay for equal work, so your guy passes up a dozen qualified potential V.P. candidates, women and men, in favor of the air-headed beauty queen. THEN you guys have the nerve to forget all of the ugly things you said about Hillary Clinton and call us "anti-women" when we laugh at her for the stupid things she says. We're fighting two wars and working to prevent a major economic recession. Your guys are stunts, scandal and smears, all the time, while we keep plugging away, talking about the ISSUES THAT EFFECT ALL AMERICANS.

I'm not done. . . Americans have been rejecting the Lee Atwater- Newt Gingrich- Karl Rove attacks, yet you guys ignore the real issues for the attacks and smears. Most people are smart enough to see through it for what it is. Now I guess predictions of rioting on election night are next. Keep talking, Two Tap, because while you're chatting up the latest conspiracy theory, Barack's poll numbers are up. Coincidence? It's still the economy stupid! You've been punked! See ya all at the inauguration.

Damn sounds like McKague is gonna be leading the rioters if the Chosen one gets rejected. Laughing Well when the lootin and scootin starts it wont be anyone I know doing it I wonder if Kevin can say the same??? Laughing By the way heres the rundown on who supports equal pay for women.

Unequal pay
Democratic Sen. Barack Obama pays women staffers 87¢ for every $1 he pays his men.

I laughed when Obama said: “Women still earn only 77¢ for every dollar earned by men.”

Where, I wondered, would that be?

Little did I know he was talking about his own Senate office.

Cybercast News Service reported: “The average pay for all 36 male employees on Obama’s staff was $55,962; and the average pay for all 31 female employees was $48,729.”

That works out to 87¢ for every $1 a man is paid.

But what about Republican Sen. John McCain, huh? Huh? What about him?

CNS: “After excluding interns, the average pay for the 30 women on McCain’s staff was $59,104.51. The 16 non-intern males in McCain’s office, by comparison, were paid an average of $56,628.83.”

That works out to $1.04 for every $1 a man makes.

Oh and Obama’s staff appears to be 50% larger than McCain’s.

I think I found some potential rioters in Fla.

Republican HQ Manager's Home Shot Up Over McCain Signs
'Democrats Far More Aggressive in Seminole County,' Victim Says

POSTED: 11:26 pm EDT October 22, 2008
UPDATED: 10:45 am EDT October 23, 2008

LONGWOOD, Fla. -- The home of a Central Florida Republican headquarters manager was shot up and damaged over his support of Sen. John McCain, the man told police.

Rog Coverely said several pellets pierced his Longwood home. Coverely showed several spiderwebbed-holes in the front windows of his home.

The Republican manager said he is convinced he was targeted because of new McCain signs he added around his home.

"All I can tell you is this, I have a very good relationship with my neighbors," Coverely said. "I mow my lawn. The only thing that has changed is I have two McCain signs in my front yard."

Coverely said he has taken about 300 calls concerning stolen or vandalized McCain signs in the area.

"It says this campaign is getting vicious," Coverely said.

Coverely said it appears Democrats are becoming more aggressive in the county.

"I wouldn't say slipping, but I would say the Democrats have become far more aggressive in Seminole County because it is such a heavy Republican area," Coverely said.

Meanwhile, McCain was in Florida on Thursday.

The Republican presidential nominee spoke at Allstar Building Materials in Ormond Beach. Later he'll be in Sarasota for a "Joe the Plumber" bus tour rally at Robarts Arena.

That's great, Two Tap, keep going. Nothing gets Democrats and other ordinary Americans more eager to vote than being called "socialists" and "rioters". You and your friends just thoroughly pissed off West Virginia and New Hampshire right into a deep shade of blue. Can you get Sarah to call half of the hard-working Americans that like tax cuts for the middle class " Un-American" again? That one was good for ten or fifteen electoral votes for my side. It's all one more nail in the Rove-Bush-Cheney era. What else you got? Keep going!

Well I could call em rednecks or racists like the hierarchy of your party call those who aren't addicted to the Baracko koolaid. That might actually get a few of them "uneducated hicks" out to the polls. By the way while we have you here can you splain to us why you libs believe their is something wrong with being a "Redneck"?? I ask you this because im sure you are aware that most of your truck driving peers would probably fall into that category at least they sure used to sound that way on the old CB radios.Ill bet most of them are just falling all over themselves to vote for Barcak Hussein Obama.

I challenge you to find one single case where a well known Democratic official called anybody a red-neck like Palin called half of the nation socialist and un-American. How about the times you all insulted community organizers? Can you do that again? We need more of them motivated for our get-out-the-vote work.

"John Murtha calls Pennsylvanians red necks"? That's your example? John Murtha IS a Pennsylvanian! Surely you can do better. Dave, don't give me that bull. Nobody here is discouraging free speech here, in fact, it is being actively ENcouraged. Nothing brings out the vote of more hard working Americans than being insulted by a divisive Republican. What's this I hear about McCain saying Obama is 'too educated'? Please, get him to say that again. Some college students might be planning on sleeping in election day.

Yup thats my example. by the way im still waiting to hear your opinion on rednecks and why their is a problem if one chooses to be one. I believe I would much rather be a "redneck" than a democrat rioter and looter. And of course we need to see the probably out of context actual quote of McCain saying the messiah is too educated. Come to think of it I do remember working with a few educated idiots in my time perhaps thats what McCain is talking about.

Well, I'd be very surprised if Obama wins. If he doesn't it will get real ugly and I would urge everyone to buy an Obama for president sticker. Just in case you need to prove your "allegiance", however outrageous it may seem.
Barring that, make sure you have several loaded guns handy. Just wait, he loses and the pooh hits the fan. Big.
Hopefully they will burn half of the city to the ground.
That might be a nice start. Assuming of course that they start in the right place.

Federales, you've outdone yourself with that one, not an easy task.

Keep it up guys, you're demonstrating just the right-wing's kind of fear mongering and stupidity that is driving the average American right into the hands of the big tent of the Democratic Party.

There will be no rioting regardless of the win. If the coup of 2000 didn't inspire us to take to the streets, nothing will.

Fed, and TwoTap, you are the best and brightest of the internet. Keep up the good work, and on behalf of my party, thanks.
