Wednesday, July 12, 2006 Flint ed board get new president; another member resigns By Melissa Burden mburden@flintjournal.com • 810.766.6316 FLINT — The Flint Board of Education elected a new president Wednesday, while another board member announced her resignation, just days after the resignation of its former president. Stephanie Robb-Martin was elected board president for the 2006-07 school year and will have two board vacancies to fill on her watch. Board member Lisa Walker announced during the meeting at the Sarvis Center that she is resigning for personal reasons, effective Aug. 31. Former board President Marvin “Skip” Harbin resigned Friday. Harbin cited increased and new job duties as his reason for leaving the board post. He is assistant principal at Grand Blanc East Middle School and athletic director for both Grand Blanc middle schools Wed Jul 12, 2006 4:10 pm  rapunzel Guest Former board president Chris Martin was in the front row of the audience. During his term as president the Flint school board was always fighting. He is very divisive. Very worried he will apply for appointment.
