Somewhat better odds of winning on the street than in a casino.

I think a casino in Flint is a terrible idea. How many people have a disposable income to spend in them ? How many people in the area are on some form of assitance ? Can they afford to frequent a casino? And with the city being so bad in regards to crime, who is going to opt for Flint when they can go to far safer places like Mt. Pleasant and other places farther north? I can almost see another Autoworld scenario or Raddison scenario developing .
Scrap the idea of the casino I say. Let the colleges and universities grow. Clubs, stores and other things will slowly develop to meet the demands and wishes of the students. The colleges are here, let's build around this theme.

Oh Ryan, they will be doing both! Buying drugs and going to the casino! They want the high roller lifestyle. You are a reasonable affluent person Ryan, drive to Mt. Pleasant. And since you are in real estate, will a casino raise the property values in Flint? And the point, a very valid one, has been made already, there are no Indian lands in the city. And I doubt if even greedy Donald Trump would want to build a casino here. And in case you have forgoten folks, we are in a serious recession (none dare call it a "depression") and folks don't have much disposable income to spend idly.
