14 of my local 1600 Brother and Sisters were laid off today. Most in DPW building inspections sections. Sam and the Mayor helped each other out to get re-elected and here is the results. Sam, I hope you are enjoying your fat raise while the members you represent are out on the streets!! All of the idiots who voted for Sam are probably feeling like a field mouse with a hawk hovering. MANY MORE pink slips are coming.

well, fiscal responsibility can be hurtful....

33 + 14 = 47 x $40,000.00 = $1,880,000.00 (at an average of $20.hr.,no overtime, 2000 hrs. per year) savings per year x 3 years, the dump on
saginaw st. is accomodated.....if needed.

michigan economy sucks big time.......... Crying or Very sad

why is this muma's fault??

I spoke with some of the laid off Inspectors today and from what they said when they confronted Sam about the lay off notices he told them he didn't know anything about it. When is this fool ever gonna quit telling lies??

He knew this would happen when he opened up the contract and gave everyone $1200 and 4% raises, just to get The Don and himself re-elected.
He told everyone to vote for the raise to offset the cost of their medical.

Well, I guess they don't have to worry about that anymore do they???

Bye-Bye for now. Some may have bumping rights to other departments. Sam knew all about this. Once a rat always a rat! Bet his wife won't get a pink slip!!

I am not sure who the biggest idiot is, Sam, or the individuals who keep voting for him? It is a toss-up that is for sure. It is way past time for integrity in the 1600 Union office.

what exactly can a union president do? if there's no money how
can any union official make a city / company keep employees?

his only job description is to negotiate wages and fringes and
serve as a mediator of sorts between the administration and the
membership.

He can get out of the mayor's back pocket for one thing. He knew this day was coming but just acted dumb and suprised when these layoffs came. Then he just got a HUGE raise to almost $33 per hour! My god, what does he do to deserve that kind of money?

are you saying he should have told you kats the lay-offs were coming?
hell, you ever worked construction?

so you object to his salary?
of what concern is his salary to you?
you guys voted for him right?

would you rather have a union president who was hated by the
administration? that wouldn't be very smart would it?

it sounds like you kats are blaming your elected
representative for financial decisions of the administration.

am i missing something? tell me if i am please!!
i don't know man but from what i see, you kats have
great jobs with great fringes and should be very thankful.
