I wonder if this young soldier joined our all volunteer military before, or after we invaded Iraq.

I would say it is about 99% it was post-invasion...

if he recently got back after a 14 month tour... he went in post-invasion. He probably was duped by the same blind patriotism that swept the country during that era.

By the looks of this kid, I would say thats he's a 1st term soldier too.

I really don't think the problem is with the crisis patriots of a few years ago. I think that it's now reached a point where Americans in general are tired of the war in Iraq period now going into it,s 5th year. You got troops deploying over there for the 3rd and 4th time, etc, etc, etc. I was over there when we started the invasion. That was my last deployment before I retired after 24 years of miliary service , and I never thought then that in 5 years it would still be going on, snd I'd be seeing my son off to the Army.

Iraq is not something that just started when Bush got into office.I was over there 2 other times before the invasion, and long before Bush became our president. I was over there because of Iraq, and Saddam. No other reason. Saddams antiaircraft batteries would fire at our aircraft patrolling the northern and southern no fly zones.Saw it with my own 2 eyes. Saddam kicked weapon inspectors out of his country during the Clinton years. Saw that with my own 2 eyes too. These were cease fire agreements from the 1st desert storm and Saddam knowingly and willfully violated them while he thumbed his nose at the world. He did have WMD,s also. He used them on the Kurdish popullation in the north. Nukes, Dirty bombs, and Chemical weapons all classify as WMD,s and he had them. He used them also on the Iraq/Iran war too. Should President Bush not have been concerned about Saddams WMD,s getting into the hands of terrorist's?

I think that our invasion of Iraq was justified but 5 years later I'm tired of it too.

so, america was justified in attacking iraq because saudi's performed 911?

or america was justified because saddam was using wmd's in his backyard?

or, america was protecting saddams neighbors?

i thought saddam was hell on terrorists?
i'm lost !! Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Amen. I sure get tired of hearing "Bush Lied" when any thinking person knows Saddam had em and would probably figure out a way to get them over here. I am sure if we had not screwed around with those cllowns at the UN and their bumbling idiot weapons inspectors led by Hans blitz who couldnt find his ass in the dark we would have plenty of examples to quiet the Bush haters.(Well maybe not) Laughing Here Hans Saddam has Okd you to search this warehouse Rolling Eyes Wait till we get one of the Cant We all get along types in the whitehouse who is more concerned about Americas image around the globe than protecting its citizens. This should be very interesting indeed.

funny how things change...remember when this all started, WMDs and
"mushroom clouds" were used in the same sentence..now that no nukes
were found, the definition was enlarged to chemical weapons, spray
bottles, mousetraps, etc.. although you've conveniently forgotten, that
saddam didn't allow terrorists in iraq and he didnt fool around with militant
mullas, so that excuse doesn't work either....hmmmmm. well he
"probably" would have allowed weapons to "get over here"...riiiight.
sure, he had chemical weapons....guess who he bought them from????

i guess you know more than the weapons inspectors right? weren't they
sent to look for nuclear devices? yup....

hmmmm, what else can we use??? uhhhh welll..they might attack when
bush is gone....
dude, do you really think the various american agencies are not VERY
WELL informed as to who has what and where????come on dude.

it's real simple. you misuse people. people get pissed. 1 + 1 = 2

LT let me remind you the game aint over yet. Shocked I remeber reading quotes from Osama and some of the other Islamic terrorists who said they were surprised at our retaliation for 911. It seems they were used to the Clinton response to terrorist acts against US citizens which was NOTHING. Maybe they are waiting to get another limp wrist like obama or Hillary in the white house before they launch their next attack. Who knows but like I said they aint going away.
