i don't believe woodrow did anything negative intentionally. i know
several civil service employees were working against him by holding
up or round filing certain things. i think there was constant fighting
with a city council determined to help him fail. i think the financial
condition of the city may not have been brought to his attention in
an urgent manner by his finance manager. i think there were a number
of circumstances that contributed to his dielemma. but, as they say and it's true, the buck stops at the mayors desk! i am sure he has thought
about his tenure as mayor and is prepared to do whatever it takes to
do his job very well whatever that may be. he's not a dishonest guy.

williamson, love him or hate him, started winning the forgotten people's
trust before the election. the dumpsters, cleanups, church donations,
visits. it was right out of tammany hall!! the race was made into a white-
collar versus blue-collar race by the losing side that pissed off a fair
amount of hard working citizens. the word "old" was used constantly by
the other side. that pissed off a large amount of seniors. skin color lost significance, and i haven't seen that in decades! the tact used by the other side became disrespectful, dirty and disgusting (bad advice), that also
ingratiated people.

williamson came in with a different tact. he stopped all accounts payable
until he reviewed EVERYTHING!! a brilliant move. doing that, his
administration caught untold amounts of unwarranted expenditures.
he promised to reinstitute weed cutting and he did. the very next day
after the election i saw Bob (can't remember his last name) leading a
weed cutting crew on beach st. in what is now mettawannee hills. the
point is, he actually did what he said he would do and i admire that. all
in all, there is no doubt williamson's business experience allowed
him to see things in city hall in a different light and deal with them
accordingly, and that he has done. sometimes in life people can make
a mistake and most people hold that mistake against them forever.
in addition to being a good mayor, he has proven even those who have
faulted at some stage in life can shine again...thats the real reason
i respect the mayor.

whooooo, was that a mouthfull?? Rock ya Rock ya Rock ya Rock ya Rock ya

Flushing Tax PAYERS ADVOCATE Archie Bailey said his bid to remain chairman of the county Board of Commissioners was derailed by his support for Flint Mayor Don Williamson.

But for today everybody is saying they will all get along.

I've been saying it all along; the election in Flint was all about who's "in charge" in Flint. The County Board vote verifies that. The party establishment can't stand the fact that they're not controlling Flint.
