Actually Michigans castle doctrine law states that if you defend your life from a real threat in a place you have a right to be that the perps kin folks can no longer sue you for the death of their "Loved" one. About time I say.

Actually anywhere, the mall a restaurant, your vehicle, a park etc. For many years politicans (mainly Democrats) made it the law that an individual if confronted by a dangerous person must retreat and show no aggression towards the threat. They come in the front door you were supposed to exit out the back, dont resist, they try to take your vehicle, let em have it. Their idea was that no one could tell the intent of the attacker and so you might accidently do harm to some poor lost soul who had momentarily gone astray. Lots of folks found themselves being prosecuted and sued into poverty by the poor misunderstood attacker or his family. And of course many more were murdered and raped all in the name of protecting the bad guy. Naturally these same lib politicans usually surrouded themselves with armed security and were not affected by any such rules. Old Fat Ted Kennedy is a prime example. Well that has changed thanks to the efforts of level headed politicans and second ammendment rights groups who realized that folks have a god given right to defend themselves and when doing so should not have to fear legal action after the fact. Dont go looking for trouble but if it comes to you handle it.

If you shoot someone in Self Defense and Have A CPL, And if the officer on scene Arrest you, Even tho at the time He or She Can see that you were Defending yourself.. You can sue the Cop and The City.
It is Against the law Now For them to Detain you if You USE force to Defend yourself

Any use of a firearm against a person, whether you aim to maim, or aim to kill is considered deady force. Deadly force is that force to which a reasonable person would or should know could cause death or serious bodily injury. As a legally armed citizen, you may use deadly force to protect yourself, or another person from death or serious bodily harm. It would be hard to justify why you used deadly force on someone who was fleeing. In some cases, someone fleeing does not neccesarily that they are the perp. IE, someone running from the scene of a bank robbery could be just a scared bystander.

The point is that one of the most dangerous places to be is what the libs like to refer too as a "Gun Free Zone".
