Why does it matter who they vote for anyway?

Every vote counts. But this is more a question of how people go about selling/campaigning/endorsing than it is about how they caste their final vote. Not everyone pays attention to all the political goings-on that impact their lives. Come election time, those people really do look to community leaders they feel represent their interests (like union leaders, which, well. . .you know), have similar interests (other community members), and/or trust. The endorsements made by those groups and individuals become a guide for many voters. That is why it is necessary for the public to know as much as possible about the specific reasons for an endorsement.

Flint Conservative: See, that wasn't so painful, was it? : ) Seriously though, if political polar opposites can agree, there is hope for all of us.

Seriously Terry Bankert and Ryan Easho are good people. I think they are outstanding citizens. Why pick on them Bob?

I think they are too. But this is a critically important election for the residents of Flint and challenging 'outstanding citizens' to fully and honestly explain their public comments is an exercise in robust debate and engaged democracy. That's what it takes to be sure we elect quality leaders. I think Terry and Ryan would agree.

Well, my intention was to create dialogue and it has happened. I am not mad at Bob. I would rather him ask me about it, than to talk behind my back.

Fair enough. But I hardly think publicly asking public figures to respond to their public statements on a public forum to be talking behind one's back. Quite the opposite actually. Oh well. We can agree to disagree on that too. Rolling Eyes
