Ya gotta love the Mayor's new tv ads running on ABC 12. Why is he only talking about crime rates for 2007? Could it be because from 2003 (the year before he assumed power on 7/1/04) through 2006:
Murders are up 96%?
Robberies are up 90%?
Aggravated assaults are up 132%?
Burglaries are up 54%?
Arsons are up 90%

well, all i know is that now whenever anyone in my neighborhood calls
them, they show up almost instantly!! and trust me, in the area of
lippincott and dort, we don't allow much crap.!!
personally i think the current administration is doing a wonderful job
in light of the unemployment situation.    |

| Obviously your neighborhood gets better response. I have waited three hours for a response and others in my neighborhood have waited between one to two hours if they show up at all. Crime is up in the City no matter how you look at it. The mayor doesn't know the truth |

Flint police unions blast mayor's campaign ads on crime

FLINT -- TV ads in which Flint Mayor Don Williamson takes credit for a drop in violent crime in the city give an inaccurate picture of what's really happened, the presidents of Flint's police unions said today.
"The fact is," said Sgt. Rick Hetherington, "violent crime has increased in Flint every year since he's took office."
Appearing with Keith Speer, president of the union that represents officers, and Lt. David Winch, president of the lieutenants and captains bargain unit, Hetherington dismissed the ads as actually showing a "small snapshot" of what's happened so far this year.
The mayor's advertisements trumpet a dramatic drop in violent, based on Flint crime statistics showing homicides and rape are down dramatically over the first several months of 2007 compared to last year.
But the union presidents, whose unions have endorsed challenger Dayne Walling, argue that FBI's annual Uniform Crime Reports actually show that between 2003 and 2006 - the first three years of Williamson's term - violent crime and property crime have risen.

CHICAGO, Ill. --- The Rev. Jesse Jackson brought his Rainbow/PUSH Coalition to a troubled Chicago public housing project yesterday.
His posse: about 20 area ministers and representatives from City Colleges. Rainbow/PUSH distributed food---500 turkeys and other items---along with information about voter registration, GED and trade programs, and HIV testing.
And he spent last night in the Harold Ickes Homes public housing complex in Chicago after telling reporters:
"We intend to break up the Gestapo-like techniques used in this area," Jackson said.
Jackson decided to come to Ickes Homes, at 23rd and South State, after fielding numerous complaints of police harassment.
Who knows if Flint gets tough on crime maybe old Rev Jackass will decide to pay it a visit.

It made some sense till ya added the "anywhere else". Flints got em just like the windy city and you oughto care. As far as Jesse start a major harrassment with sweeps of Evergreen estates, Atherton east, or anywhere the bangers hide out and see if Jesse dont show up complanin of racial profiling by the cops and the mayor. Also as outrageous as the WB photo is it is factually true and one of the major causes of why you can hire as many cops as you want but the increase in numbers will have little effect on crime as long as those in the middle of it provide cover for the punks.

| That shirt is a BIG part of the problem. How many thugs are walking the streets today, committing more crimes, because people that know something won't come forward? A day or 2 ago there was an article in the Journal about a guy that was sentenced on a firearms charge. He was not tried for a murder because no witnesses would testify. |

crackdown on thugs?? and you think the black folks of
flint would support jesse crying and rhyming because
of supposed illtreatment of drug dealers, rapists and thugs?
in case y'all don't know, the blacks who believe that
"don't snitch" crap are in the minority, just as the number
of whites who support the ignorance of race hate groups
