I agree Lunchlady!

I live in The Grand Traverse District Neighborhood, very near downtown. I was living right on Saginaw street in the heart of downtown before I bought my house. No problems! I loved it.

I walk around downtown every day and once in a while someone asks me for change. I just say no or ignore them. No biggie. It happens in most downtown areas. It happened much more frequently and much more aggressively when I lived in Salinas Ca., NYC and Detroit. I'll admit when I lived in the boonies of New Lothrop it didn't happen much but I wouldn't move back there. I prefer the city.

How about wandering around when the sun goes down tried that lately.? By the way I spent the last 20 years of my 30 year career working third shift in the Flint area so I aint exactly ignorant of what transpires when the vermin leave their dens. Before Flint went to a digital trunked type system you should have got yourself a scanner and listened to the cop frequencys and see for yourself what actually goes on in your little neighborhood and pretty much anywhere in the Flint community. Might be an eyeopener for sure. Shocked Like they say a Liberal is just one good mugging away from becoming a conservative,

I've been mugged. I don't wander, but I will be walking after dark in the winter, it gets dark so early. I know things happen around here, I wouldn't skip down the street swinging my purse around while looking at the sky. I pay attention and carry pepper spray etc. I did walk around downtown when I lived there, after dark there are less street people. There are a lot less all together now that the Berridge is closed. Most of the wanderers are from group homes, a little off but relatively harmless.

There's always a CCW.

I was going to mention that but when you do it usually gives any liberals within earshot a case of the vapors. Shocked
