Dave said this board has aura of elitism that seems to permeate this forum. My honest thought is that we are populist, inclusive, just more rational than most boards. Oh well! I am confused Dave what do you really mean?
When I see posts that imply that people with college degrees are superior human beings, that people are unfit for public office because they're old, fat, don't smile, have an "ugly" wife, etc., that people who work in the factories are "knuckle draggers", that 70% of the population of Flint are "white trash and ghetto folk", that implies elitism to me.
I understand what you are saying.
I would offer what you see is a difference in age.
Or you are responding to the Usurpers attack on the current city elected leader.
I have a couple of degrees ,collected to keep from having to go to work and am over the hump, age wise ,I know that I am dumb as a rock but courage gets you a long way.
Wisdom trumps everytime. Wisdom is seasoned knowledge ,based on life expierence, that will permeate the issues discussed.
It does not take long to recognized a seasoned poster who has something to say from these kids.
Wealth and college degrees don't matter. I don't know who you are and if I reconize a screen name you still may be some one elese.
Whats going on here is our minds are talking with out knowledge of personal history, past relationships nor the age of or care for how big our house is.
Elite thinking minds are tripped up here every day.

Scratch the Labatt's and replace it with a sixer of Bell's "Lager of the Lakes". It's made in Michigan and tastes a heck of a lot better than the watered-down drivel the big brewers try to pass off as beer today. How's that for elitism? |
