I agree with most stuff. Mays probably should have let the deadlock go through the night and then just criticized the council later. Personally I probably would have tried something myself. I don't like just sitting around doing nothing like the vast majority of people in this town do. I'd rather take action and make even make a dumb mistake like Mays and have everyone criticize me than to just dish out the criticism. What was everyone else at the council meeting doing? Was no one else talking to the council trying to end the deadlock?

Mays told me Jackie Poplar was actually not involved in the deal but I assume Donna was and then told Jackie to quit holding out perhaps failing to mention the deal to her.

While it's easy to criticize Mays for trying to do something to end the hopeless stalemate didn't we have people there? I know if I'd have been there and was for Croom getting elected I would have been hounding the other 4 council people like crazy. Especially jackie Poplar. I've never heard of such an obvious case of nepotism in my life. I've seen council people excuse themselves from the vote just because they are freinds with the person.

For the record I do have a tendency to listen to differing opinions. If I hadn't done that I wouldn't have learned about Ed Taylors subpoena of the police chief and found out that we didn't have much of an ability to investigate crimes back then and I assume we still don't as evidenced by shoddy investigations. If you want to criticize me for listening to Mays go right ahead but who else is there to listen to? Doesn't the mayor have an effective gag order on Flint city government? He is the sole spokesman for the city. The mayor said crime is going down but isn't it going up? Please tell me who I should be listening to. Maybe if people really cared about the casino deal they might be more interested in listening to Eric Mays. If you look online you would see that Mays was working with Taylor on the casino deal but who cares about a couple thousand jobs coming to Flint. Like we really need jobs in Flint though. I just love driving to Auburn Hills 4 days a week. Aren't we one of the worst cities in one of the worst counties in one of the worst states as far as unemployment goes? Who needs jobs I guess when you can just go out and steal though.

Adam, I'm with you when it comes to listening to political outcasts Like Eric Mayes. He has had some really good ideas. And what many people seem to say behind closed doors is how great he is at ground level support. he gets out and gets people. He gets names for petitions and he gets some people motivated. Many of whom you or I could never reach. Yet he seems to get publicly criticized.

I was rather disappointed with Kincaid and company. When, Croom was seen as a possible solution. They should have gone that way. In the next round of Voting. Poplar should be removed completely from the list as potential candidates for the position. There by freeing up councilwoman poplars vote to actually help be conductive to the process.

Personally I believe they should DUMP all the names from the first round and go with the people they never interviewed. This should prove rather interesting. If they cannot come to a consensus on people they interviewed. I wonder how they would do with people that they don't have a clue about.

I have called my Council Woman Sandy Hill (who has yet to return a phone call in almost a month) that My support/request would be to vote for Katherine Bell.

They should do this again. Maybe with a Yeah/Nay vote. Read each name on the list. Vote yes or no. Anyone without at least three yes’s, should be cut from the voting. Then begin again. And not stop until someone is chosen. If they cannot go more than 5 rounds again without a appointment. Cut the lowest vote getters and try again. When you get to two. Someone has got to win. There may be a rule or some type they have to follow for the voting. If there is. It isn’t working for the people.

Now, I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed, But it seemed pretty clear to me. That Pat Clawson and Donna Poplar didn’t have a chance. It almost appeared that Ms. Bell might have. However, we could see that a few people where attempting to resolve the appointment.

You should here some stuff about her again at the council meeting. I'm curious how the office is doing and that is almost impossible to know without any reports. It seems like the office is helping some people it's quite clear who runs this city. I think it's probably pointless for people to file ombudsman complaints against the mayor unless it's for the record.
