Dr. Milton just put his house up for sale at $529,000.
It's interesting as he prepares to leave town he still has not paid his 2006 city of Flint property tax. With penalties the bill is over $7500. Yes, these are the taxes he should have paid last year.
Maybe he thinks his wife paid them already, now that she is finished "correcting" his resume.
Verify it for yourself at the city assesment web site. Look for 3545 Hawthorne Dr.
School board -- how about deducting this from his remaining pay! |

| The city of Flint property tax look-up page is not always up to date. He may or may not have paid his taxes yet. So I'd give him the benefit of the doubt before you rush to judgement. However, if I was a betting man - I'd put my money on him trying to skip out without paying his fair share of taxes. |

Wouldn't a title search devulge that he owes tax money which would have to be paid before the home could be sold to a new buyer?

| For property in the City of Flint, the 2006 Summer tax was payable in full the end of July, 2006; or if paid in installments, the third and last installment was due 02/28/07. The 2006 Winter Tax was due 02/14/07. When property is sold taxes are prorated to date of sale and paid at closing. If taxes are delinquent there would also be penalty and interest due. Yes, a title search should be done prior to closing . |

Went to city hall and confirmed the information on Dr Milton. No tax payment received.
He may be keeping his "exit options" open. He financed the complete purchase and probably owes more than the house is worth. I bet he ends up walking away from the house and the tax bill.
Even if the house does sell and the taxes get caught up at closing, what kind of example is this. The top guy at the Flint schools doesn't pay his property tax -- were does the school system get a major source of its funding? What if we all acted like this? |

You can't build new schools without tax revenue. How absolutely hypocritical that Dr. Milton and his supporters call people out for not supporting the school system. - AND THEY DON'T EVEN PAY THEIR TAXES!

| When it comes to the "real world", people DO get behind on their bills. We have no idea what his expenses are. When Flint was rich, we provided the superintendent a Board owned home. Now we're lucky if we can afford to pay a truly qualified leader. Flint has very complicated school problems. I will be surprised if they find a great leader in my lifetime. Maybe they should go it with out a leader. Nothing really changes when they leave. |
