Author    Post   andi03 F L I N T O I D I am being put on an agenda for a township board meeting, I will not discuss what jurisdiction. I made a decision, that one person in particular didn't like, yet part of the job description that I have, KIND OF, required me to do that particular thing that that person didn't like. It took away privileges of sorts, they were NOT earth shattering, it more or less hurt pride, it would NOT affect the outcome of what information is supplied to the public. My point, anyway. My job is about done, it was temporary anyway, but the project that I completed when turned over will become a complete debacle because one of the people in charge don't know what they are doing, and won't admit it!!! Oh, well. <shrug> Point out of the long diatribe, how in the hades do I get up in front of the people sitting in the big comfy leather chairs and the 30 some odd people sitting in the audience, when I know that I did the right things and not freak out because I HATE speaking in public, this will be my downfall for sticking up for myself, because I feel that I did nothing wrong. I am non-union, if that matters in the grand scheme of the responses. _________________ Build a bridge and get over it! It just seems that important to one person in particular, that wants to micromanage everything. It's a website/Content Management System...........oooohhh, ahhhh. That's all that I can say, that's what I said in the first message, didn't work out too well, eh? My husband and I have designed websites for about 12 years now on and off, him being the coder and myself being the marketer, input into design and the person that makes the overall presentations. We did one for a company based in Cali and did it all online between us. I am not totally inept pertaining to layout, but take any advice from people very adept at this kind of stuff, that's how I learn. Anyway, I am worried about the fact that the board meeting will turn into a kvetch fest about my work performance rather than the overall issues of effectively streamlining work between departments. I have researched it, online, go figure. If my work performance is discussed at the board meeting rather then taking it through the proper channels as specified in a certain resolution, I will stop them in their tracks with a crud load of information all the way back from 1988 and the morphing of the personnel policies that are set in place........even though I am non-union. edited to add: pressed the post button too soon!! _________________ Build a bridge and get over it!
