affirmative action is racism plain and simple.
Imagine being told you were less intelligent than someone just because you were left handed, or had brown eyes.
That's exactly the message affirmative action sends to minorities.
It also discriminates against whites by denying them of something they earned. Opponents of this viewpoint would say that affirmative action is necessary because racism still exists in our society and that the races are not equal yet.
My answer to that is that the color of someone's skin does not in any way limit their potential in life.
If it did, then we wouldn't have blacks seeing the level of success that Condoleeza Rice, J.T. Watts, and Clarence Page experience. Racism will always exist if one race is given preferential treatment over another. |
