No cronies to appoint; only qualified people will be appointed.
No vendettas against any person of group.
Will return 50% of salary & benefits so another police officer can be hired.
Will make public safety the number one priority.
Only appointees will be to positions absolutely necessary for the operation of city govenment.
Promises to follow the city charter.

And, my campaign slogan will be: "He couldn't be any worse".

I don;t think it's fair to ask a mayor to cut his salary in half. If you want him to do the job 100% of the time, he or she deserves 100% of the salary.

It;s not the Mayor's fault that this town is broke. The city was poor long before Walling. This city was dangerous long before Walling. The real problem has very little to do with local government.

Eason may be in Prison by then.

I forgot to add this to my campaign promises -
I'll only steal 1/2 as much as the other guy.

Those are the things I would do if I was the mayor. I wouldn't expect any professional politician to do the same, since it's all about them & not the people they supposedly represent.

Why would he be in prison, for something in the past or something he is currently doing? I don't think micro-managing multiple departments is a crime.

I think a better way to rephrase it is who will be willing to take on the mess that Stanley and Williamson created and that Walling inherited.

Walling started with a balanced budget and had the wrong people, so he did not make adjustments when funding projections were not materializing. His arrogance on tv is what upsets most people I know. Walling had a vision and would not accept reality as he continued to follow his now flawed vision.

A message from MM.

A Merry Christmas to All ...from Michael Moore

Saturday, December 25th, 2010

Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas (or a Merry Everything) and hope you are all well today.

Here's a good thought from the writer William Rivers Pitt:

"Before Santa and presents and shopping and all the attendant Christmas (stuff) got involved, this holiday was enshrined to commemorate a guy who got nailed to a tree for daring to tell people to be kind to one another. If you have two cloaks, He said, give one away. Remember those who have less than you, be charitable, be good, be merciful."

Hear, hear.
