This appointment is more than a step back , it is like sliding all the way down the hill and into an abyss. What's next? Forays into Michigan prisons for new canidates for other posts? Or how about open recruitment of crack dealers and pimps as advisers in "entrepreneurship "? This appointment is insane! I guess the path to success in Flint has to include being corrupt (or patently stupid) . So we want to present a decent front to prospective businesses coming to Flint. And how do we do that? By putting people who should have served in prison as city officals? What can we boast about ? "Flint has the highest percentage of known felons in key city admin slots". Wow,I would be jumping up and down to make the move to Flint ! Hey Dayne,I know some guys who served time in prison, want to tap them for more openings? I am just another person tired of playing this "reshuffle the crooks" game this city engages in. Oh,,wait,techincally she isn't a crook any longer, they waved a majic wand and }POOF" ,she is pure again. Let's recap this county's stellar leadership ,both present and past. We have Donna Poplar and her sister in law, both very highly ethically challenged people, we have Joe "Give me some cash and I will give you a gun permit" Wilson , we have past prosecutor Robert Leonard who did serve some time for his crimes. We had ,in the past, two police officers who engaged in a shoot out in the parking lot of the department. We had a buffooon ex-con Don Williamson . Sorry if these "characters" apperances are not in proper chronological order but this is sort of stream of consciousnesss writing and I am really ticked off. What really amazes me is that people are going to stand behind Walling in this selection . "He is MY mayor and I will stand behind him" What a load of crap! What does Walling have to hide that these people are holding over his head? Why did he chose this person? It has to be either a simple case of politcal payola or someone has the goods on Walling. Dayne, you had a chance and you blew it right from the start.
