"FLINT - Flint Board of Education election petitions are available in the Flint City Clerk's office, located on the second floor of City Hall.

Four seats are open for the May 6 election: one single-year term and three four-year terms.

Candidates must have 40 valid signatures or pay a $100 nonrefundable fee in the City Clerks Office by Feb. 13.

To be eligible, candidates must be U.S. citizens, 18 years old, a registered voter and a resident of the district."

(You can not run for Flint school board if you live in the Beecher district part of Flint)

That should be part of Flint schools so you'd be able to run. I'm pretty sure the only part of Flint that's not a part of Flint schools is the Beecher district.

Beecher and Westwood Heights are independent school districts. Each has their own superintendent and boards of education. Neither are connected to the Flint School District in any way, except for being neighbors. Good luck in your school board run. If you visit my school I will make sure to introduce myself. You may find me and my students in the area you crudely refer to as "the killing zone."

That's what some people call the North End of Flint.

Whoops.

Here's the map.

If I win I would probably try and help downsize the kill zone area. How is your school's security?

You should find a half dozen people like yourself to move in to your area so you guys could get rid of those annoying gun noises which also help add to our yearly body count.
