What winter was it where the snow was so deep, all the cars had to get the orange 76 balls to put on their antennas so that they could be seen behind the snow drifts?

I want to say it was JUST before I was born in 67, but I could be wrong.

I DO remember the one winter in 83 I think when we had NO snow.

Next week's NOT gonna be fun...

I think that it was 1946...that was the year that snowplows had to come down from the UP......is that the year you are trying to remember? <running and ducking> Wink

We had 31" in 24 hours early in Feb. of 67.

3pm - went to work with 10" on the ground.
11:30pm - got out of work, 18" on the ground.
1am - got out of the parking lot.
3am - got home.
Buick parking lot at Industrial & carton tp home at Grand Traverse & Simcoe.
Didn't stop for any lights or signs all the way home, didn't get stuck once.

I have a photo from back in 67 of me sitting on top of the slide by my swing set and the snow is up to my feet. (I was 3..) I can't imagine getting that much snow so fast.

It was really something. I remember someone having a radio on at work & all you heard every hour was: "Another 4 inches".
