They represent what we spent on the war, and the BUDGET SURPLUS of the Iraqi government, due to oil revenues:

Heh.

Maybe we can borrow money from them to pay for their reconstruction.

According to a Popular Mechanics article from May 2008 150,000 United States bridges have structural problems or outdated designs. 80 Billion would provide a suitable start on repairs.

So you're suggesting we borrow the $80 billion to start repairing OUR infrastructure? That's edgy stuff but I like it.

Holy shit! Where did you dust off that little nugget of literary ingenuity? You had me running to the dictionary with that one. But you know what they say.... one man's lagniappe is another man's small gift given with a purchase to a customer, by way of compliment or for good measure; bonus.

And, yes, it's the least they could do for all our trouble.

*****lagniappe*******

Hmmm.....without running to a dictionary or dictionary.com it sounds like a monkey that liked lasagna. Or a crazy mixed mutt of a dog. Or it sounds like the term for a child that is "lagging" to take a "nappy"-poo.

<running to dictionary/insert Jeopardy theme song.....do,doo,doo,doo,doo,etc>

A southern term for a freakin' gift from a store owner?! Is that where they got the idea for the Happy Meal?! <har,har,har........ahem>

...and the "Baker's Dozen", the 13th roll the old-time baker would throw in your bag for being a good customer.
