Lucky's Steakhouse in Davison Township Reopens After Health Code Violations
DAVISON TWP. – Lucky's Steakhouse, a popular dining establishment located at 10098 Lapeer Road in Davison Township, has officially reopened its doors to the public. The reopening follows a temporary closure mandated by the Genesee County Health Department due to multiple food safety violations.
The restaurant was ordered to cease operations on February 18, 2026, after a health inspection revealed several issues that did not meet Michigan's food safety standards. According to reports from the Genesee County Health Department, the inspection documented six food code violations, including four repeat infractions that had been noted in previous inspections, some dating back to 2024.
Specific concerns raised by inspectors included improperly cleaned food preparation equipment, unsanitary utensils, and contamination issues related to the restaurant's ice machine. The repeated nature of these deficiencies prompted the health department to take the rare step of ordering a temporary shutdown to ensure public health and compliance with state regulations.
To facilitate its reopening, Lucky's Steakhouse was required to undertake thorough cleaning, implement necessary corrective actions, and successfully pass a follow-up inspection. The establishment has now met these requirements, receiving clearance from health officials to resume operations last weekend, approximately March 7-8, 2026.
The closure had a notable impact on employees, who faced an unexpected disruption in their work, and also drew concern from loyal customers. However, the community has shown support for the restaurant, which has been a local fixture since its opening in 1998.
With the health department's approval, Lucky's Steakhouse is now welcoming patrons back, aiming to restore confidence and continue its long-standing tradition in the Davison Township dining scene.
