Author    Post   Steve Myers Site Admin Flint police were busy in one east-side neighborhood Thursday. Their goal was getting rid of drug and prostitution activity. One home on the corner of Jane and Minnesota was the sight of a drug bust around 5 p.m. Thursday. Neighbors say it's long overdue. Early Thursday morning, Flint's Special Operations Vice Unit raided another home on Jane, targeting prostitutes and johns. Flint police have been getting reports of a rise in prostitution activity in the area. The early morning bust resulted in 11 arrests. Police also seized marijuana, crack cocaine, firearms, nearly $2,000 in cash and four vehicles. The neighborhood is now being monitored on a daily basis. It is also now recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice as a Weed and Seed area. The Weed and Seed program is designed to rid high-crime areas of gang and drug activity.
