FLINT CITIZEN- By: Terry Bankert Flint MI USA 01/24/05
.....
RETRACTION OF THE FOLLOWING SENTENCE:
" The people behind the police milage are intent on destroying the Flint Ombudsman office."
Terry Bankert 01/24/06
.....
REVISION OF PRO OMBUDSMAN THEME TO

Vote No on Proposition 2
.....
I launched the yahoo egroup Flint Citizen Internet Advocacy (FCIA) as a 24/7 advocacy committee meeting on 1/14/06. Several months ago the Blog Flint Citizen was redirected as a way of expressing positions on issues of importance to Flint Citizens, Flint MI USA. 60 days ago I began to post on Flint talk a bulletin board to allow a quicker interaction of ideas. I have no control over Flint Talk. Of the 100 pages of text written I do retract the above sentence and offer my apology to any Flint Citizens who are members of the pro police millage renewal efforts who feel their intent has been maligned. It’s the right thing to do.
I have amended the pro ombudsman case statement and the egroup invite to reflect these changes. Additionally this communication will be posted on Flint Talk, Flint Citizen blog the TV 12 forum and Flint Citizen Internet Advocacy (FCIA) and released as a press release to the Flint Journal, Uncommon sense, TV 12, TV 25 TV 5 and TV 66.
Was my intent in this sentence to mean that individuals, unknown to me, who are attending meeting of the police milage committee are personally or organizationally intent of eliminating the Flint Ombudsman, NO.

Did I mean historically the pro police voices thwarting the efforts of Flint Ombudsman , yes.

Do I believe that members of the administration, police and /or legal intentionally constructed the ballot language so that Yes keeps the milage and eliminated the ombudsmans office, a strong yes.

DO I want to negatively affect the efforts of the Flint Police milage renewal committee NO. I support the milage. The trick will be how to educate the voters to vote yes on milage renewal to keep it and no on ombudsman to keep it.

For those that communicated with me about the impact of this sentence Thank You for sharing.
Do you have any other suggestions ?

How can our two groups work together?
