Flint once had at least three organizations (Chambers of Commerce) financed by Flint for economic development through federal funds. HUD demanded the elimination of multiple agencies.
Flint has an Economic Development Corporation and the most recent audit can be found at http://www.michigan.gov/treasury/0,4679,7-121-1751_31038---,00.html.
The City of Flint uses the EDC to issue Bond projects for Flint. As of june 30, 2011, the EDC had issued 33 Bod projects for Flint. The Bond issues are paid solely from State Shared Revenues of the City and are not an obligation of the EDC. |

The Oak Business Center was purchased for $760,000 on June 30, 1989 by the EDC using a Tax Increment Finance Authority (TIFA) contribution. TIFA gave an additional $343,642 for capital improvements. |
