Hello all,
Greetings from a former Flint resident. I write to announce the publication of my new book on the history of Flint. The title is Demolition Means Progress: Flint, Michigan, and the Fate of the American Metropolis. It's being published by the University of Chicago Press on July 9, 2015. For those interested, it is available now for pre-order (as a hardcover or a Kindle/e-book) at a discounted price (the discount won't last long). I'll attach the Amazon.com link below.
http://www.amazon.com/Demolition-Means-Progress-Metropolis-Historical/dp/022605005X
If you click on the link (and I hope you will!), you'll be able to view the cover image, a synopsis of the book, and blurbs from others who have reviewed the manuscript. Please consider purchasing a copy and/or asking your local library to order a copy, which they are usually happy to do. The books will ship in about three weeks. Thanks very much for your support!
Best regards,
Andrew

This book is a "must read" for anyone who wants to understand the underlying historical dynamics that created the present day Flint. |
