Kincaid blocked Wide open West (WOW) cable from coming in and competing because Comcast was paying A HEFTY SIGNING FEE for a no competition clause. It was an ill fated move in an attempt to avoid a state takeover, Remember the stories about the gifts Comcast was offering local politicians?

When the state took over the cable contracts, it was not to imppove services or encourage lower prices as they alleged. It was simply a money grab. As cable contracts expire, the franchise fees once paid to cities go instead to the state.

The we have the FCC allowing all of these mergers that lead to monopolies. No telling who is getting paid off there.

Oh and Dave- Check out the check register as some block clubs and churches are getting funding! Don't forget that it is an election year.

Didn't see any in the March listings. I'll look again.
