Just a day after the Flint City Council set a hearing to oust Mayor Don Williamson, he's taking them court, again. The City Council is scheduling a hearing on June 27th on the grounds the Mayor has violated the city charter.

It was a split vote 5 to 4 to set a hearing for the 27th, he says they don't have the authority and has now sued.

Today was also the deadline for the Mayor to veto the city council budget, which guts the city attorney's office, sets aside a million dollars to hire outside attorneys and guts the mayor's office. The Mayor has responded that it will cripple 68th district court, a huge caseload of criminal and traffic cases, and eliminate the victim's advocacy program. Mayor Williamson says the reason he didn't veto it is because it would have made the situation worse. He thinks the city council will get tired soon considering they haven't won anything yet.

In a 3rd case, a judge ruled yesterday, the city must pay 130-thousand dollars to install utilities, water, and sewer at Sugar Maple farms, a development started years ago. Three homes were built but can't be used.

The mayors response, "this is another mess i have to clean up. I instructed the city attorney to deposit 130 thousand with the court."
